Gasoline price increase is coming
Fuel prices are increasing one after another due to rising prices of oil and international products following increases in taxes and exchange rates.
According to information provided by industry sources, the price of a liter of gasoline will increase by 1 lira and 64 kuruş starting tonight.
Last night, diesel prices increased by 2 lira and 3 kuruş.
WHAT WILL THE NEW PRICES BE?
With tonight’s increase, the price of a liter of gasoline will increase to approximately 38.51 TL in Istanbul, 39.08 TL in Ankara and 39.19 TL in Izmir.
The price of a liter of diesel is approximately 39.99 TL in Istanbul, 40.53 TL in Ankara and 40.71 TL in Izmir.
Prices vary between provinces, districts and dealers.
RAIN OF INCREASE AFTER ELECTIONS
Before the elections on May 14, the price per liter in Istanbul was 19.81 TL for gasoline and 18.58 TL for diesel.
In the three and a half months after the election, the increase in diesel prices exceeded 105 percent. The increase in gasoline prices was 95 percent.
The government, which maintained exchange rates by selling reserves and made tax cuts before the election, raised the exchange rate and made historic tax increases immediately after the election.
Fuel prices, which exceeded 10 TL in December 2021 and reached double digits for the first time, quadrupled in just 21 months and exceeded 40 TL.
