Anchovy has become abundant, its price has dropped by half

The general hunting ban for bottom trawl and purse seine fishing, which began on April 15, ended on September 1. The fishermen began to throw their nets into the sea. Horse mackerel, whiting and a small amount of sargan were caught in the nets of fishermen who opened the season. Fishermen fishing in the Black Sea also caught the first anchovies of the year.

Fisherman Yaşar Karasüleyman stated that the sea water should cool down a little and said: “This year there will be a lot of anchovies. “We will sell it for 20 lire per kilo,” he said.

Musa Ökten, who came to buy fish, commented: “There seems to be some abundance at the stalls this year. The prices are affordable. We have high expectations for anchovy this year. “We think there will be too much anchovy,” he said.

Murat Temiz said: “I have never seen such good anchovies in the winter months. If it continues like this it may be better in winter. Talking for a while with our friends, they told us that this year there would be no acorns and there would be plenty of anchovies. At home we eat bonito and anchovies. “We consume whatever is fresh that day,” he said.
