The yogurt company job offer was on the agenda

The announcement made by the American yogurt company Chobani to its founder Hamdi Ulukaya became the agenda of social networks.

Hundreds of people applied for the company’s job, looking for a ‘ghostwriter’ to write for Ulukaya, prepare speeches and produce content for the blog.

Chobani posted a job offer on his website and LinkedIn on August 17, announcing that he would pay an annual salary of between $185,600 and $278,400 (not including bonuses) to a writer for CEO Hamdi Ulukaya.

FOUR-STROKES ON THE MARKET…

New York employers are required to share salary ranges in their job postings.

Social media users who saw the ad were shocked by the salary given, saying, “After this time, I can change jobs and write articles about yogurt.” Some users thought it was exaggerated to pay four times the market average.

In the United States, ‘ghostwriters’ earn between $39,956 and $63,626 domestically, according to the salary data platform salario.com.

The company was looking for someone with “outstanding writing and storytelling skills” and 15 years of work experience.

And while the job posting currently includes the note “Sorry, this position is filled,” more than 600 people applied through LinkedIn, according to Insider’s scan.

It is not known how many people applied directly to the company. The company did not disclose who it hired.

Other positions advertised by Chobani include national account manager (up to $163,200 compensation) and automation control engineer (up to $127,200).

As of 2022, Chobani had a share of more than 20 percent of the US yogurt market, with sales exceeding $2 billion. However, the company has decided to postpone its IPO plans due to unfavorable market conditions.
