We double the world on Premium TV
Although there was a large increase in the sales of products in the upper and entry segment in electronics, especially in premium products, Turkey doubled its share in total sales, in Western Europe and in the world.
Stating that Turkey has doubled Europe in the 8K TV market, Samsung Electronic Turkey Sound & Display Systems Marketing Director Erkan Yıldırım made the following assessment: “We are number one in the world in terms of sales 8K TV product totals. Its market share exceeds 2%. In Western Europe and the United States, this rate is less than 1 percent. In Türkiye there is a market of 2.5 million televisions. In terms of turnover, the share of $1,500 products in the first six months was 22 percent, in 2020 it was 5.3 percent. TVs priced between $1,500 and $2,500 are at a market level in which Turkey has no history.”
The exchange rate will determine the sector
Erkan Yıldırım pointed out that global TV sales have been declining since March 2022, saying that compared to last year, the TV market contracted by 10 percent and the phone market by 5 percent. Yıldırım indicated that there may be a return to normality in Turkey with a decrease in demand: “The exchange rate will also affect the positive outlook in 2024. What determines the sector the most is the configuration,” he stated.
