The army of unemployed with diplomas grows
The AKP government created an army of unemployed with diplomas in Türkiye. His government’s strategy, “A university for each city”, led to an exponential increase in the army of unemployed youth in Turkey.
One in three unemployed have a college degree. In the period January-July 2023, 32 thousand 11 people applied for the İş-Kur on-the-job training program attended by job seekers. Among them are doctoral and master’s degree graduates. A total of 7,155 university graduates seek employment through the Work Training Program.
Another piece of information reflected in the İş-Kur data revealed the situation of retirees in Turkey. It was determined that 3 women and 3 men who participated in the Job Training Course were between 60 and 65 years old and 7 women were over 65 years of age. With the İş-Kur On-the-Job Training Program, employers who have difficulty recruiting skilled labor are offered job opportunities by observing their recruits at their workplaces for a certain period of time and providing them with training. Job seekers receive a daily pocket allowance of TL 438.55. The craft of clothing is at the top of the professions that can be acquired through the course.
