Foreign producer inflation rose sharply in July
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the Foreign Producer Price Index (YD-PPI) for July.
In July 2023, YD-PPI increased 15.34 percent from the previous month, 45.66 percent from December of the previous year, 60.32 percent from the same month of the previous year, and 58.79 percent compared to the previous month. averages
MANUFACTURING INCREASED 60.43 PERCENT YEARLY
Annual variations of the two industry sectors; an increase of 54.26 percent in the extractive industries and 60.43 percent in the manufacturing industry.
Annual variations of the main industrial groups; an increase of 53.70 percent in intermediate goods, 67.95 percent in durable consumer goods, 62.40 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 22.42 percent in energy and 72.44 percent in goods capital.
Monthly variations of the two industry sectors; Increase of 15.34 percent in the extractive industries and 15.34 percent in the manufacturing industry.
Monthly variations of the main industrial groups; Increase of 13.39 percent in intermediate goods, 17.59 percent in durable consumer goods, 14.25 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 25.60 percent in energy and 16.23 percent in consumer goods capital.
CHANGE IN SUBSECTORS
Among the YD-PPI sectors, coke and refined petroleum products were the subsectors where the indices increased the least with 22.42 percent, metallic minerals 41.56 percent and base metals 41.82 percent. On the other hand, machinery and equipment were the subsectors where the rates increased the most with 84.89 percent, computing and electronic and optical products with 83.60 percent and tobacco products with 81.90 percent.
Among the YD-PPI sectors, basic metals with 11.74 percent, food products with 11.90 percent, basic pharmaceutical products and preparations with 12.39 percent were the subsectors where the indices increased the least. On the other hand, coke and refined petroleum products were the subsectors where the indices increased the most with 25.60 percent, computers and electronic and optical products with 18.54 percent, machinery and equipment with 17.25 percent. .
