The remarkable increase in foreign investment from China

China’s foreign direct investment was reported to have risen 10.6 percent annually in the first 7 months.

According to the statement from China’s Ministry of Commerce, foreign direct investment rose 10.6 percent in January-July from the same period last year, reaching 71.93 billion US dollars.

In the first 7 months, foreign investment income increased 6.3 percent annually, while the value of new investment project contracts increased 0.6 percent.

BELT AND ROAD EFFECT

During this period, the investments made in the Belt and Road Initiative countries increased by 15.3 percent to reach 13.69 billion US dollars, constituting 19 percent of the total investments.

The Belt and Road Initiative, which was launched in 2013 with the aim of reviving East-West trade on the historic Silk Road, has contributed to China’s foreign investment with its infrastructure projects, transportation , communication and other connectivity in a geography that covers two-thirds of the world’s population in the last 10 years constitutes a significant part.
