Stations that use renewable energy will be ‘green charging stations’

Vehicle charging network operators may designate all or some of the charging stations as “green charging stations” if the electricity used in the charging service is produced from renewable energy sources.

According to the regulation of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), published in the Official Gazette today and modifying the charging service regulation, green charging stations will be displayed with a separate color or sign on the platform free access. The logos or signs to distinguish them before the users may be determined by the EMRA.

In this context, the operators will be obliged to amortize and disclose to the users the RER-G document, each of which corresponds to 1 MWh of electricity production, which certifies that a certain amount or proportion of the electricity supplied is produced at from renewable energy sources.

These operators will be able to operate under the regulation of the renewable energy resource guarantee certificate in the electricity market for the electricity that is the object of the recharging service at the recharging points located in their own recharging network.

Also published in the same newspaper was the EMRA decision, which provides for changes in the principles relating to the YEK-G system and the operation of the YEK-G organized market. (Reuters)
