HOW MUCH IS THE OFFICER’S HIGH OFFER?
The government’s offer for an increase was 14 percent for the first six months of 2024, 9 percent for the second six months, 6 percent for the first six months of 2025, and 5 percent for the second six months.
Thus, the government demanded a cumulative increase of 24.2 percent against Memur-Sen’s offer of a total increase of 87.8 percent in 2024.
Memur-Sen, who participated in the negotiations on behalf of the officers, did not accept the offer. Since the proposal was not accepted, the government will come to the table with new proposals on August 17 and 22.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On August 1, the collective bargaining process began, in which approximately 4 million civil servants and 2.5 million retired civil servants participate.
In accordance with the determined work schedule, with the classification of the offers of 11 service branches and the preliminary discussion of the proposals for the general public, the negotiation phase began in the following process.
In this context, the government presented today to the contracting table the first proposal for an increase in public officials. However, after the first offer an agreement could not be reached.
WHAT DID THE OFFICER-SEN WANT?
Memur-Sen, which is the authorized confederation at the collective bargaining table, requested an increase of 35% in the first 3 months, 10% in the second 3 months, 15% in the third 3 months, and 10% in the fourth 3 months. months, including social participation, for the quarterly periods of 2024.
By 2025, the Confederation required a 25 percent increase in the first 6 months and a 15 percent increase in the second 6 months, including social participation, for 6-month periods.
WHEN IS THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT MEETING?
The public employers’ committee is scheduled to present the first proposal on August 14.
