Engine price hike

Another hike is expected in fuel prices, which increased after the elections.

According to information provided by industry sources, there will be an increase of TL 1.80 in the price of a liter of diesel, starting at midnight tonight.

Gasoline prices are not expected to change tonight.

WHAT WILL THE NEW PRICES BE?

With the increase, the price per liter of diesel will increase to approximately TL38.31 in Istanbul, TL38.79 in Ankara and TL38.97 in Izmir.

The price of a liter of gasoline is approximately TL 36.13 in Istanbul, TL 36.63 in Ankara and TL 36.74 in Izmir.

Prices vary between provinces, counties and dealers.

106 PERCENT HIGH AFTER THE ELECTION

Before the elections on May 14, the price per liter in Istanbul was TL 19.81 for gasoline and TL 18.58 for diesel.

In the three months after the elections, the rate of increase was 82.4 percent for gasoline and 106.2 percent for diesel.

The government, which maintained exchange rates by selling off reserves and made tax cuts before the election, raised the rate immediately after the election and made historic tax increases.
