400 thousand foreigners came, 140 thousand Turks left
The number of people who emigrated to Turkey from abroad decreased by 33.2 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year and became 494 thousand 52 people.
52.9 percent of the migrant population were men and 47.1 percent were women. Of the population coming from abroad, 94,409 were Turkish citizens and 399,643 were foreigners.
The number of people who migrated abroad from Turkey increased by 62.3 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year and became 466,914. 55.7 percent of the migrant population were men and 44.3% women.
Of the population that went abroad from Turkey, 139,531 were Turkish citizens and 327,383 were foreigners. In 2021, the number of Turkish citizens leaving Turkey was 61,585, and the number of foreigners was 98,631.
When the age group of those who immigrated to Turkey in 2022 is analyzed, it is observed that the majority of immigrants are in the age group of 25-29 years with 12.2%. This age group was followed by 20 to 24 years with 11.7 percent and 30 to 34 with 11.3 percent.

ISTANBUL QUALIFY FIRST

Antalya was followed by Antalya with 14.8 percent, Ankara with 5.4 percent, Bursa with 3.9 percent and Mersin with 3.8 percent.
When we look at the distribution of the population that immigrates from Turkey by provinces, it is seen that Istanbul is the province with the highest number of immigrants with 39.5 percent. MOST OF THE MIGRATION FROM RUSSIA AND UKRAINE
Among the foreign citizens who arrived in Turkey in 2022, citizens of the Russian Federation ranked first with 25 percent. The Russian Federation was followed by Ukraine with 8.1 percent, Iran with 6.5 percent, Afghanistan with 5.4 percent and Iraq with 4.8 percent.
Iraqi citizens ranked first among foreigners who emigrated from Turkey with 20 percent. Iraq was followed by Iran with 10.6 percent, Uzbekistan with 7 percent, Afghanistan with 6 percent and Turkmenistan with 4.8 percent.
