Second bread rise in Konya after a month
After the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections of the 28th Term, the rain of increases continues. The second walk came after the one on June 14 in Konya, known as the grain warehouse. With the recent increase, the price of 200 grams of bread, which used to sell for 5 lira in the city, was increased to 6 lira.
“DUE TO THE HIGH CHARGES, WE HAD TO UPGRADE”
Making a statement on the increase in bread, Vedat Honça, president of the Konya Chamber of Bakers, said, “With the commission’s decision, there was a 20 percent increase in bread, starting tomorrow, and its price was 6 lira. We had to do an update due to the cost of bread and corporate increases”.
“THE GOVERNMENT HAS SEARCHED FOR THE BREAD OF THE LITTLE INCOME”
Reacting to Konya’s second bread increase with an interval of almost a month, Konya Future Party MP Hasan Ekici said, “The government, which cheated our people’s votes by saying ‘our economy will grow’ before the election, even targeted low-income bread after the election. Unfortunately, our bakery shopkeepers, who lost money due to overlapping price hikes, found the solution to increase bread. I can’t blame our bakers here. Unfortunately, the government has put the cost of economic mismanagement on the backs of the people and continues to do so. I say sorry,” he said.
