Increase in public transport in one more province

Great hike by public transport in Antalya

After the UKOME meeting of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, public transport increased.

The full boarding fee, which was TL 9.60, was TL 15 with an increase of 56.24 percent, and the student accommodation fee, which was TL 4, was TL 6.50 with an increase of 62.5 percent.

The request for an increase to increase the full shipping fee of the Antalya Busmen Chamber of Artisans and Craftsmen to 16.50 lira was discussed at the Transport Coordination Center (UKOME) meeting held today.

At the meeting, the request to increase the full shipping fee, which is currently 9.60 lira, to 16.50 lira was rejected as excessive.

IT WILL BE VALID FROM TOMORROW

UKOME has decided that the full shipping fee will be 15 lira. The student accommodation fee, which was 4 TL, was determined to be 6.5 TL.

The pension rates for pensioners and teachers, which were 8.40 lira, were increased to 14 lira, an increase of 66.66 percent. The transfer fee was increased to 5.5 lira.

The increased fare will be implemented on Antalya and Antray public buses from tomorrow.

‘MUNICIPALITIES CANNOT RESIST THESE COSTS’

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Insect of CHP gave the signal for an increase in public transport in a statement he made on July 16 due to the SCT increase in fuel.

In his post on his social media accounts, Insect said: “No municipality, regardless of party, can resist these high costs. Transportation has reached the level of being a luxury for our citizens. For this reason, local governments should be exempt from the SCT on public transportation and construction machinery. Also, our farmers, transporters and merchants who work with taxis, buses and vehicles should not be ignored.

IT WAS ALSO 4 MONTHS AGO

The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality increased public transport fares on March 15, 2023.

In accordance with the new fare in force as of this date, the full ticket for urban public transport was increased to 9.60 lira, the transport fare for retirees and teachers to 8.40 lira, the student fare to 4 lira, and the transfer fare to 3 lira.
