Baykar statement on the agreement signed with Saudi Arabia
Baykar, the manufacturer of armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), will cooperate on technology transfer and joint production under the deal with Saudi Arabia.
In the statement made by Baykar, information was given about the contract made with the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia.
“With the comprehensive agreement, cooperation in technology transfer and joint production will be realized to boost the high-tech development capacity of the two countries in the coming period,” the statement read.
THE SAUDI ARMY WILL USE
Furthermore, it was stated that the Akıncı tactical UAVs to be exported under the deal will serve in the Saudi air and naval forces.
Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar stated on the signed contract: “We are taking an important step that strengthens the deep ties between the two countries. The agreement we signed will increase our capabilities in the field of UAV technology, while contributing to the development of Saudi Arabia’s high-tech development capability. (Reuters)
