The 100 largest companies in the US are in trouble

The attorneys general of the red US states plan to sue the top 100 US companies over diversity programs in the workplace.

According to the BBC report, a group of Republican attorneys general in the US have declared that diversity programs that provide “places based on race” are unconstitutional.

The Attorney General’s Office announced in an open letter that it will initiate legal action against companies that do not end the practice.

“Even with good intentions, it is illegal to discriminate against people just because their skin color is different,” the statement said. statement was included.

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti and Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach are known to have spearheaded sending the open letter signed by a total of 13 attorneys general.

Skrmetti said: “The (Supreme) Court states that whatever the motivation of companies, people cannot be treated differently because of the color of their skin. There are ways to support poor people and all-racial groups without doing any primitive racial profiling.” he made the statement.

The attorneys general cited the Supreme Court’s decision that “race cannot be a factor in the selection of students at Harvard and other American universities.”

The open letter targets 100 large companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Intel, Netflix, Paypal and Uber.

Some experts say that if the case becomes law, companies that cancel diversity programs will receive a backlash from young people, while others argue that affirmative action deepens racism in the US.
