High temperatures mark a record in electricity consumption

The use of air conditioners and agricultural irrigation, which increased in parallel with the increase in air temperature throughout the country, led to peak values ​​in the consumption of electrical energy.
According to information compiled by AA correspondent from AÅž data from Turkey Electricity Transmission, the highest level of electricity consumption of the year was recorded yesterday in Turkey at 1,77,63 megawatt-hours.
In this way, the record of 1 million 58 thousand 962 megawatt hours of electricity consumption on July 13 was surpassed.
Yesterday 1.6 million megawatt hours of electricity were produced
Per hour, the lowest electricity consumption was recorded yesterday at 07:00 with 34,625 megawatt hours. The highest electricity consumption occurred at 4:00 p.m. with 51,588 megawatt hours.
Yesterday 1 million 67 thousand 367 megawatt hours of electricity were produced daily in Turkey.
23.7 percent of that production was covered by natural gas, 22.4 percent by imported coal, and 16.3 percent by hydroelectric plants with dams, and the rest by other sources.
Yesterday, 6,413 megawatt hours of electrical energy were exported and 16,112 megawatt hours of electrical energy were imported. (AA)
