Disappointment for 15.5 million retirees! There was no increase in the bag.
Due to the significant increase to be made for retirees, the eyes of 15.5 million retirees became a law to be approved by Parliament, but the expected increase did not occur. There will only be a 25% increase in pensions.
The good news that millions of retirees were waiting for did not come out of Parliament. There was no change in the regulation, which is included in the stock market law and includes a 25 percent increase for the pensioner. The 25 percent increase in the commission was accepted in the General Assembly.
34 PERCENT AND 8077 SEYYANEN PROPOSAL REJECTED
While Article 18, which regulates the increase, was being discussed, CHP deputies presented a proposal containing a 34 percent increase in pensions. However, this proposal was rejected by AKP votes. CHP Rize MP Tahsin Ocaklı said: “Those who buy 7,500 lira will never get an increase. An average of 9 million retirees are awaiting the decisions that will get them out of this situation below the hunger limit. I wish we could have made a good decision for retirees together. AKP members, I beg you to make a regulation for pensioners together. Otherwise, it will be a stain on your history,” he said.
The SP deputies also presented a proposal for an increase of 8077 lira, in addition to 25 percent. This proposal was also rejected by AKP deputies. SP İzmir MP Mustafa Bilici said: “The pensioner cannot go to the cafeteria for tea and he is sentenced to house arrest. The increase granted to the civil servant must be granted to the pensioner, and the minimum pension must be increased to 15 thousand liras. The MHP deputies did not act alongside the AKP and did not vote against the CHP and SP resolutions.
BAHÇELİ GOES TO ERDOGAN…
Returning from abroad the day before due to the NATO summit, President Erdoğan received MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli yesterday. During the meeting, which lasted about 1 hour in Beştepe, the rate of increase to be made for retirees and the increase that was requested to be made on a regular basis were discussed. The MHP leader gave a very clear message at the group meeting that the increase was insufficient: “As the economic recovery broadens, the salaries of our civil servants and retirees will become much higher. As far as we have seen, the 25 percent pay increase given to our retirees has not been deemed reasonable or sufficient. Our open and sincere offer is our expectation that the increase of 8,077 lira, which is planned to be added to the salaries of civil servants, will also be reflected in basic salaries and pensions.”
IT HAS BEGUN…
According to the information received, before accepting Bahceli, Erdogan also discussed the issue of increasing pensions with the Minister of Finance and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek. It was claimed that Şimşek wanted the 25 percent rate of increase to be maintained and was also against the increase. Backstage at the AKP, it was claimed that a more comprehensive increase for retirees would take place in December and that a satisfactory increase would take place before the local elections.
