Eurozone investor confidence fell more than expected in July

Euro zone investor confidence fell more than expected in July to the lowest level since the energy crisis in November 2022.

According to the statement made by Sentix, which conducts market research and is based in Frankfurt, the general index of investor confidence in the euro zone, which was minus 17 points in July, fell 5.5 points to minus 22, 5 points this month.

The index, which fell to its lowest level since the energy crisis in November 2022, was expected to fall to 18 points.

The Expectations Index, which measures investor expectations for the next 6 months, also decreased from minus 18.3 points to minus 24.5 points.

‘THE SITUATION IN GERMANY IS DRAMATIC’

In Germany, whose economy is based on exports, the general investor confidence index fell 7.3 points to minus 28.4 in July, the lowest level since November 2022.

“The situation in Germany, the largest economy in the euro zone, remains particularly dramatic,” said Sentix CEO Manfred Hübner.

The investor confidence survey was conducted from July 5 to 7 with the participation of 1,226 investors. (AA)
