The report of the first semester of the investigation “Cost of living in Istanbul” of the Istanbul Planning Agency has been published.

According to the report, the cost of living in Istanbul in June increased by 63.86 percent compared to the same month a year earlier. The average cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul was estimated at TL 35,380 in June.

The cost of living in Istanbul increased 5.59 percent compared to the previous month and 28.20 percent compared to December of the previous year. The cost of living in Istanbul increased by 63.86 percent compared to last year. The largest proportional increase in the last 6 months was registered in January.

INCREASED 1873 TL IN ONE MONTH

In June, the average cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul was estimated at TL 35,380. The average cost of living in Istanbul increased by TL 1,873 compared to the previous month.

Considering the price increases of some products frequently used in homes compared to December of the previous year, it was observed that the most striking price increase was experienced by minced meat with a rate of 68.64 percent.
