The Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV) is doubled
The Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV) is doubling for new vehicles being registered and vehicles registered for existing traffic through the end of 2023.
In 2023, the additional Motor Vehicle Tax will be paid twice, for one time. The additional MTV will apply to all vehicles, regardless of whether the vehicle is new or registered for traffic.
AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler said a number of tax regulations were also included in the stock market bill, including salary increases for civil servants and retirees, submitted to the speaker of Turkey’s Grand National Assembly.
Güler said: “We are making new arrangements on corporate taxes and MTV in our 17-article proposal, and we are proposing changes to remove some exceptions in our tax laws. In addition, considering that the share of some fixed amounts of taxes in GDP decreased in the tax laws, we foresee authorization agreements that will allow the updated fixed amounts.
ONCE ONLY
In the bill, it was stated that the tax regulations were made to meet the financial needs arising from the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
The proposal provided that a one-time additional vehicle tax equal to the MTV accrued in 2023 would be charged to vehicles registered and registered on the date of publication of the law and to vehicles that will be registered and registered for the first time until 31 from December.
