Reaction to TURKSTAT, which did not disclose CHP inflation data

TURKSTAT has announced that the June CPI and PPI reports will be released on July 5 due to Eid al-Adha. CHP spokesman Faik Öztrak, who held a press conference today, reacted to this delay from TURKSTAT:

– Normally, TurkStat was expected to announce June inflation today. But that statement was left for Wednesday. ITO announced the prices without saying the party.
EN-AG, made up of independent researchers, also announced inflation for June.

Only Turkstat postponed the June price announcement by two days, saying, “I am unable to collect prices from workplaces due to the Eid holiday,” a month in advance.

– But the inflation of June is very important. When the inflation of the first 6 months is determined, the increase to be made in the salary of the public servant, the pensioner’s pension, the salary of the public worker, to compensate for inflation, will also be determined.

– The heavily fabricated figures from TURKSTAT do not reflect actual inflation anyway. In addition, the postponement of the announcement of these prices under the pretext of the holiday generates concern that the salaries of employees and retirees will be usurped again.

– For six months, the government crushed workers and retirees to inflation. Now, with the increase it will make in July, it will supposedly offset inflation. But the loss of the citizen for the last 6 months will remain on it.

– On the other hand, raising wages, salaries and wages in a way that only offsets inflation in a period when inflation is above 40 percent means that our citizens will be crushed by inflation in the next 6 months.

Therefore, the inflation expected in the second half of the year should also be taken into account in the increase to be made in July.

– Of course, before the elections, we are watching whether Erdogan will fulfill his promise that the lowest salary for civil servants will be 22 thousand lira, again with the strength of our president Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

– Although the government increased the lowest pension to 7,500 liras before the elections, it did not increase the pensioner’s basic pension, while it increased the lowest salary to 7,500 liras, the Treasury difference gave.

– For example, while the salary of a pensioner who received 5,500 liras increased to 7,500 liras, the pension of a pensioner who received 7,501 liras remained intact. Thus, there was no difference between those who paid more premiums and those who paid less.

The government had caused a great injustice. Since this injustice will be corrected. We will also follow the words of gradual increase.
