US Treasury Secretary Yellen to visit China
US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will travel to China this week to meet with senior officials.
In a statement from the US Treasury Department, it was indicated that Yellen will visit the Chinese capital, Beijing, from July 6 to 9.
In the statement, it was recalled that Yellen’s visit to China follows US President Joe Biden’s meeting with President Xi Jinping in November to deepen US-China communication on a series of topics, including the global economy and financial developments.
LOOKING FOR A HEALTHY ECONOMIC RELATIONSHIP
Yellen will discuss the importance of responsible management of relations between the world’s two largest economies, communicating directly on areas of concern and working together to address global challenges, the ministry said in a statement.
The United States seeks a healthy economic relationship with China that fosters mutually beneficial growth and innovation, and expands economic opportunity for American workers and businesses, he said.
In the statement, it was stated that there is an effort to cooperate on global problems such as climate change and debt problems. (AA)
