CBS: June inflation at 5.7% Related articles

Inflation in the Netherlands eased slightly last month. This is evident from the Statistics Netherlands data that has just been released. According to the flash estimate, the inflation rate was 5.7%, up from 6.1% in May.

Statistics Netherlands points out that this quick estimate was calculated on the basis of still incomplete source data. Regular Consumer Price Index (CPI) data will be released on July 11.

In the old method, the price development was measured on the basis of the new energy contracts. The new method uses transaction data from energy suppliers, so that long-term energy contract rates can also be taken into account. According to Statistics Netherlands, this ensures a more accurate inflation figure.
