Natural gas imports decreased 2.1 percent in April

According to the April “Natural Gas Market Sectoral Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, imports were made through gas pipelines of approximately 3,284 million cubic meters and 698 million cubic meters from liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities. .

In this period, imports of natural gas through pipelines decreased 4.9 percent in April compared to the same month of the previous year, while LNG imports increased 13.7 percent.

Total imports of natural gas decreased 2.1 percent in this period and stood at approximately 3,982 million cubic meters.

While most of the natural gas imports were from Russia with 1,722 million cubic meters in April, this country was followed by Azerbaijan with 893 million cubic meters and Iran with 866 million cubic meters.

While Russia’s natural gas imports decreased 8.5 percent, Iran’s imports increased 3.5 percent and Azerbaijan’s imports increased 21.7 percent.

HOUSING CONSUMPTION DECREASED 32.1 PERCENT

In said period, the consumption of natural gas in the country decreased 22.2 percent and was located at approximately 3 thousand 966 million cubic meters.

The consumption of natural gas in the industrial sector decreased by 20 percent and was registered at 931.9 million cubic meters.

Natural gas consumption at power plants decreased 9.33 percent to 610 million cubic meters.

The consumption of natural gas in residences decreased 32.1 percent in this period and reached 1,580 million cubic meters.

INCREASE IN THE STOCK OF NATURAL GAS

The amount of natural gas stocks in Turkey increased by 226.8 percent in April compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching about 4.336 billion cubic meters.

4,23 million cubic meters (92.8%) of the natural gas stock is in underground storage and 312 million cubic meters (7.2%) in LNG terminals. (AA)
