Bagels cost 10 lira in that province.

Bagel price in Bursa increased to 10 TL

An increase was made in Bursa for simit, the food of the poor. The price of 100 grams of bagels, which were sold at 7.5 lira, rose to 10 lira.

Erdal Pınar, Chairman of the Bursa Chamber of Bagelmakers and Bakery Manufacturers, announced that 100 grams of bagels, which have been sold for 7.50 TL, will be sold for 10 TL from July 1.

BAKERY: INCREASE IN EXPENSES

Pınar made the following statements in her statement:

“You will remember, as we raised our bagel prices to 7.50 TL due to price differences in recent months, we stated that our priority is the integration of consumers and merchants and that we continue our fight to offer the best to our consumers, and We share our discontent with the price increase.

However, as you will appreciate, the price increases in the market, especially in the last six months, have brought us face to face with great difficulties.

Flour, sesame, tahini, oil, electricity and natural gas, etc. The increases in the main expenses, especially the increase in labor costs due to collective agreements, and the inevitable upward movement of rents have increased our costs and increased our costs of bagels, pastries, börek, yufka, etc. made the regulation of product prices mandatory.

From Saturday 01.07.2023, 100 grams of simit, which has been sold for 7.50 TL until today, will be sold for 10 TL.”
