Message on inflation from the Governor of the Central Bank, Gaye Erkan
Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan met with bankers in Istanbul. Answering questions from members of the press, Erkan gave messages on the subject of inflation.
“ALL OUR ECONOMIC UNITS HAVE TURNED AROUND”
Erkan stated:
* “We unite with our industry. It was a very productive meeting. They told us about their problems and their demands in the process of simplifying the macro-precautionary framework.
* I am sure that all our economic units have rolled up their sleeves to fight inflation in accordance with the economic goals established by our government.
* I am confident that we will do this consistently and decisively, specifically. For this reason, price stability is very important for financial stability. We will fight against inflation guaranteeing financial and price stability”.
