Disability and elderly pension payments were delayed
Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Minister of Family and Social Services, announced that pension payments for the disabled and the elderly have been delayed.
Göktaş said: “Starting today, we are depositing into the accounts by advancing the payment of old-age pension and disability pensions for the month of July due to the Feast of Sacrifice. Therefore, we will have paid TL 2.7 billion in total.”
On the other hand, the ministry reported that the amounts of old-age and disability pensions published in some media after the announcement of the new minimum wage did not reflect the truth.
The Ministry’s statement specifies that the increase made after the new minimum wage determined on June 20 was updated by applying the same rate to “old pensions and disability” by some media, and the information “The amount of the old ‘current’ pension and shared disability pensions does not reflect the truth”.
