Stating that they will strive to distribute social welfare equally in the ‘Turkey Century’, Minister Göktaş said, “We provide support twice a year so that needy households can meet their basic food needs before our religious holidays. We will not leave any of our citizens behind in our social assistance, which we have transformed into a supply-oriented, not a demand-oriented one”. Last year, an additional resource of TL 223.7 million was allocated for those in need before Eid al-Adha. Social benefits doubled in one year. Aid payments made by the Ministry of Family and Social Services before religious holidays increased exponentially.
