Experts, for their part, warned citizens against scammers who want to take advantage of the intensity of the holidays and suggested that corporate companies should be preferred despite fraudulent checks, promissory notes and deposits.

CAUTION WHEN SHARING CREDIT CARD INFORMATION

Aydın Ağaoğlu, Chairman of the Consumer Confederation, emphasized that car lessees should be careful when making payments, warning:

“After every holiday, we receive intense complaints. They are usually people who rent a car during the holidays and go on a trip with that car. Those who are going to rent a car, be careful. There are companies that are corporate and there are companies that are not. But the biggest risk is that they tell the person who rented the car, ‘You give us an authorization for an open-dated credit card.’ Sign a promissory note or write a check. We see that by placing large sums, they then victimize the consumer.

For this reason, the citizen who provided the credit card information should be well aware that after the delivery of the car, sometimes months later, enforcement proceedings can be carried out. Because you brought the car, but the clutch pad was burned or the fender was scratched, he says. For this reason, they must take pictures with the phone while picking up and delivering the car. Bayram, who warned against bogus car rental companies for renting a car, said:

Let them go and rent in the same branches, because there are excess fraudsters in the market. Imaginary car rental companies deliver to addresses, so citizens need to be careful.”

Saying that he was scammed while trying to rent a car, Ümit Şar said, “We rented a car. We ordered the car we rented to our address. They brought the car to the address and delivered it.
