The number of poor households increased by 1 million in 1 year
With the support program, financial support is provided to needy families for 12 months. Aid is given to households between 850 and 1,250 lira depending on the per capita monthly income. The support provided to 2.5 million families within the scope of the 15 billion lira “Turkey Family Support Program” launched last year was TL 2.5 billion. In November 2022, the number of households to which payments were made remained at 2.5 million, but the amount paid was increased to a total of TL 3.2 billion. In January of this year, 3 million homes were helped.

In June 2023, the number of households benefiting from Turkey’s Family Support Program increased to 3.5 million. Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, the new Minister of Family and Social Services, announced that he paid out a total of 4.5 billion TL to needy households this month. Informing that they make support payments ranging from 850 TL to 1,250 TL depending on their income to households that benefit from the program, Minister Göktaş said, “We continue to support them with the support we have put in place for our needy households.”
