The number of salaried employees decreased in April
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the statistics of paid employees for April 2023.
Consequently, the total number of paid employees in the industry, construction and service trade sectors increased by 3.7 percent in April 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year. While the number of wage earners was 13,997,517 people in the same month of the previous year, it rose to 14,516,688 people in April 2023.
Looking at the sub-details of paid employees; In April 2023, the number of paid employees increased 1.0 percent in the industrial sector, 11.3 percent in the construction sector, and 4.1 percent in the business services sector.
DECREASED BY 1 PERCENT COMPARED TO MARCH
The total number of paid employees in the industry, construction, and business services sectors decreased 1.0 percent in April 2023 compared to the previous month.
Looking at the sub-details of paid employees; In April 2023, salaried workers decreased 1.6 percent in the industrial sector, 0.9 percent in the construction sector, and 0.7 percent in the commercial and service sector.
