The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will hold its second meeting on June 19 to discuss the provisional increase in the minimum wage.

The process continues regarding the new figure for the minimum wage, which directly affects more than 7 million employees and indirectly affects all citizens.

The second meeting, organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, will be attended by the TÜRK-İŞ delegation representing the working class and the Turkish Confederation of Employers’ Unions (TİSK) representing the employers.

CURRENT MINIMUM NET WAGE 8 thousand 506 TL

The minimum salary of a worker is 10 thousand 8 liras per month, and 8 thousand 506 liras and 80 cents net when taxes and deductions are deducted.

The total cost of the minimum wage for the employer is 11,759 liras and 40 cents per worker. 10 thousand 8 lira of this is gross minimum wage, 1551 lira 24 cents for social security premium, 200 lira 16 cents for employer unemployment insurance fund.

FORMER MINISTER SAID 500 DOLLARS

On the agenda was the statement of Vedat Bilgin, former Minister of Labor and Social Security, for the increase in the minimum wage in July, “There will be a fee of approximately 500 dollars.” With the welfare structure expected to be added to wages, the level of 12 thousand lire is discussed, while the agenda of the workers’ representatives is inflation and the purchasing power of currency prices (SÖZCÜ- AA).
