According to Tea Industrialists Businessmen (ÇAYSİAD) officials who provided information to sozcu.com.tr on the matter, Çaykur teas have increased in the range of 43 percent to 45 percent.
ÇAYSİAD officials, who informed that the price of a kilo of tea will start from 110 lira with this increase and will exceed 140 lira depending on the type, said: “Dry tea prices did not increase for about a year, for so inflation would not increase. , which put both the producer and the private sector in a difficult situation. For a long time, there was an expectation of a rise in the market. That’s why private sector factories started not making big sales in anticipation of an increase,” he said.
According to the authorities, Çaykur is expected to go on a new trek in September or October.

Stating that today’s increase will not be limited to Çaykur, the officials also said that the private sector will increase prices by a range of 30 to 35 percent in the coming days.
Speaking to Sozcu.com.tr, Food Retailers Association board member Erdal Tüfekçi said that tea has increased by 45 percent, with a kilo of tea increasing from 80 lira to 116 lira. .
Recalling that the purchase price of tea, which was 7 lira last year, increased by 64 percent to 11 lira 30 cents this year, Tüfekçi said a 65 percent increase in retail prices is expected. of tea on the market, so the continuation of the 45 percent increase from today will be reflected in the coming months.
