7 lira in the market, 27 lira in the market

7 lira in the market, 27 lira in the market

The peach, whose weight is 3-7 lira in the Adana fruit and vegetable market, sells for 27 lira on the market shelves.

Mahsun Doğan, Chairman of the Adana Chamber of Porters, stated that the reason for this price difference was lack of control and pirated sales, saying, “Despite our insistence, control is not provided. While 35-40 percent of the harvested product is turned into fruit and vegetables, almost 60 percent is sold as pirated.

While the fruit and vegetable harvests continue in Çukurova according to the season, the products obtained are also taking their place on the counters. The peach, freshly picked from the Adana and Mersin gardens, arrives on the market shelves after its first stop, the fruit and vegetable state.

While the weight of a peach in Adana varies between 3 and 7 lira depending on the quality of the fruits and vegetables, this price rises to 27 lira on the market shelves. Saying that this noticeable price difference should be avoided, the president of the Adana Chamber of Intermediaries, Mahsun Doğan, pointed out that the producer and the citizen were victims.

’60 PERCENT OF THE PRODUCT IS SOLD PIRACY’

Explaining that they had difficulty selling peaches despite the low price, Doğan said, “We cannot sell them at 7 lira, while the markets sell them at 27 lira. Why isn’t this checked? Pirated products are sold in many parts of Adana. Despite our insistence, it is not controlled, ”he said.

Stating that they were victims as producers, Doğan said that while 35-40 percent of the harvested produce became fruit and vegetables, almost 60 percent was sold as pirated.

Dogan said: “Why is the product not available and being sold outside as pirated? We are taxed, but not outside,” he said.

‘There was a markup application in the past’

Stating that traders are blamed when goods are expensive, Adana Chamber of Middlemen Honorary Chairman Ali Batman said traders are scapegoated but the difference in prices is due to lack of control in the market.

Stating that the markup application no longer applies, Batman made the following statements:

“Right now, the peach price is clear. There is no control over the markets. The free price model should be abolished. In the past, there was a markup app. There was a markup of 35 percent for products up to 100 lira and 30 percent for products over 100 lira. The inspection was carried out in accordance with the bill of departure from the state. But now that control is not done. Here there is only control. But the pirate workers do what they want. He said that if 50 trucks enter the market, 150 trucks of product leave. (DHA)
