Natural gas imports decreased 26.6 percent in March
According to the “Natural Gas Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of March, imports were made through pipelines for approximately 3 thousand 70 million cubic meters and 1 thousand 487 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
In this period, natural gas imports through pipelines decreased by 27.7 percent and LNG imports decreased by 24.5 percent. Total imports of natural gas decreased 26.6 percent in this period and were located at approximately 4 thousand 557 million cubic meters.
While the largest share of natural gas imports were from Russia with 1.428 billion cubic meters in March, this country was followed by Azerbaijan with 922 million cubic meters and Iran with 916 million cubic meters.
While Russia’s natural gas imports decreased 48.2 percent, Azerbaijan’s imports increased 21.2 percent and Iran’s imports increased 25.8 percent.
HOME GAS CONSUMPTION DECREASED 14.7 PERCENT
In said period, the consumption of natural gas in the country decreased 14.9 percent and reached 5 thousand 658 million cubic meters.
The natural gas consumption of organized industrial zones decreased by 18.5 percent and was registered at 351.2 million cubic meters.
Natural gas consumption at power plants rose 2.84 percent to 863.6 million cubic meters.
The consumption of natural gas in residences decreased by 14.7% in this period and was located at 2 thousand 746 million cubic meters. (AA)
