China Bans Giant Company: Tensions With US Are Rising

China bans US chipmaker Micron… Tensions escalate again

While China has banned Micron, the largest memory company in the US, from selling memory chips to China’s domestic industries, this development has further intensified ongoing trade tensions with Washington.

On the other hand, the shares of companies that could benefit from this movement rose.

THERE ARE SAFETY CONCERNS

China’s cybersecurity regulator announced yesterday that Micron, the largest memory chip maker in the US, has failed a network security review and will block purchases of the company by major infrastructure operators. .

The agency did not elaborate on what kinds of risks are present in the review or which company products will be affected.

While Washington opposed the decision, the actions of Micron’s rival companies found support in China and South Korea. Rival companies are said to benefit from mainland China’s efforts to purchase memory chips from other sources. (Reuters)
