Strike in Germany paralyzed airlines: an agreement was reached

In Germany, an agreement was reached between the Union of Federal Aviation Security Companies (BDLS) and the unions in negotiations for a salary increase for airport security guards.

AGREED

In the statement issued by the BDLS, it was indicated that an agreement was reached with the United Services Industry Union and the Officers Union in negotiations to increase the additional salaries of aviation security employees after the strikes.

According to the agreement between the unions and the BDLS, additional payments for night shifts, Sundays and holidays for security guards will be increased. In addition, additional new assignments will be created for managers based on their level.

THE WAVE OF THE STRIKE SPREAD

Of note, the wave of strikes has spread in recent months as workers demand higher wages to offset the rising cost of living with the country’s unusually high inflation.

The 48-hour warning strike by security personnel at 4 airports in Europe’s largest economy on April 20-21 brought most flights to a standstill and more than 100,000 passengers were affected by flight cancellations. (AA)
