Increased amount of milk collected, decreased production of white meat
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the data on the production of milk and dairy products for February 2023.
Consequently, the amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy companies is 6.2 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year; In the January-March period, it increased 3.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
DECREASES BUTTER PRODUCTION
In March, compared to the same month of the previous year, the production of drinking milk increased by 10.9 percent, the production of cow’s cheese increased by 3.4 percent, and the production of yogurt increased by 2.9 percent. Ayran production and butter production decreased. Ayran production decreased by 2.9 percent and butter production decreased by 28.2 percent.
In the January-March period, compared to the same period of the previous year, the production of drinking milk increased 10.7 percent, the production of cow’s cheese 7.7 percent, the production of yogurt 2.4 percent and the production of ayran 1.2 percent; Butter production decreased by 25.5 percent.
WHITE MEAT PRODUCTION DECREASED 1.5 PERCENT
In March, the production of chicken eggs increased 4.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year; Chicken meat production decreased by 1.5 percent, the number of chickens slaughtered by 6.5 percent and turkey meat production by 7.3 percent.
In the January-March period, chicken egg production increased 3.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year; Chicken meat production decreased by 2.5 percent, the number of chickens slaughtered by 6.1 percent and turkey meat production by 9.2 percent.
Chicken meat production, which in the previous month was 176,236 tons, increased by 13.5% in March and went to 199,950 tons.
Chicken egg production, which was 1,613,799,000 units in the previous month, increased 7 percent in March and became 1,726,837,000 units.
