Sevim Karaca, who sells imitation products, said the price of imitation bracelets increased from 50 lira to 100 lira, and the price of sets such as necklaces, earrings and bracelets increased from 500 lira to 3,000 lira.
With the start of the wedding season, the interest of married couples in jewelry increased. Families researching gold prices during the wedding preparation process began demanding imitation jewelry that was exactly the same as the real thing.
Those who are interested in jewelry such as bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings in their daily life recently began to prefer stores where imitation products are sold. Recently, the mobility of customers in the stores has increased, where different costume jewelery is sold, from necklaces, earrings, bracelets and ring sets to jewelery with the same appearance as the authentic ones.
GREATER INTEREST REFLECTED IN PRICES
The increase in interest in costume jewelery was also reflected in their prices. The price of costume jewelry, mostly imported from China, has doubled compared to last year. The price of the bracelet, which is usually purchased by wedding guests, has increased from 50 to 100 lira.
The price of the most expensive bracelet, which sold for 500 lira last year, was 1,000 lira this year. Jewelry set, which sold for 250 to 550 lira depending on the model last year, finds buyers for 400 to 3 thousand lira.
Among imitation jewelry, full, quarter, and republic gold are among the most popular products. An imitation gold quarter can be found in the store for 100 lira.
THE DEMAND IS CONTINUOUSLY INCREASING
Sevim Karaca, a trader for 20 years in Antalya, sells exact replicas of all product groups that can be found in a jewelry store, from rings to necklaces, earrings and bracelets, bridal crowns and straw bracelets.
Explaining that his clients mostly prefer to buy a large number of bracelets, Sevim Karaca said, “The wedding season has started. The demand for costume jewelery is high. There are many requests from customers for necklaces, bracelets, bangles, sets. There is a lot of interest for those who want to wear it at weddings so as not to be embarrassed and who love jewelry in their day to day. Prices have doubled compared to last year. There are bracelets from 100 liras to 1000 liras according to the client’s taste. The prices of the jewelry sets rose up to 3 thousand lira.
