LPG imports increased by 43.3 percent

Turkey’s LPG imports increased 43.3 percent in February from the same month a year earlier and reached 287,837 tons.

According to the “Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for February, the countries from which LPG imports were made by refinery and distributor license holders were Algeria, USA, and China. USA, Russia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and Romania.

LPG imports increased 43.3 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year, and amounted to 287 thousand 837 tons.

In this period, LPG exports made by refinery and distributor license holders decreased 33.3 percent to 31,991 tons. Exports were made to Lebanon, Switzerland, Romania, Seychelles, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Bulgaria and the Free Zones of Turkey.

LPG production decreased 30.7 percent in the same period and reached 59 thousand 342 tons.

Total LPG sales made by distributor license holders in February compared to the same month of the previous year were estimated at approximately 327 thousand 168 tons.

In the month in question, autogas ranked first with a 71 percent market share in sales. It was followed by bulk LPG sales with 15.3 percent and cylinder LPG sales with 13.6%. (AA)
