The term will be extended in the limitation of the rent increase
The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, announced that the regulation, which limits the rent increase of residences to 25 percent, will be extended and will expire on July 1.
Minister Kurum, who was a guest of TRT Haber last night, made a statement on price increases in rental housing.
Noting that the regulation that limits the increase in housing rent is valid until the 7th month of 2023, the Authority said that they will extend it after the 7th month, and that they will protect citizens if there is an average above market conditions.
BOZDAĞ SAID TEMPORARY
The law, which limits residential rent increases to 25 percent, was published in the Official Gazette on June 11, 2022, and went into effect. The law prohibited the increase in housing rents above the mentioned rate until July 1, 2023.
Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said in a statement about the decision: “Turkey is a state of law, everyone has the right to regulate property. The regulation on rent increases has characteristic features. A temporary regulation limits the rent increase to 25 percent. Valid only in residences. It will apply to contracts in force and in progress until July 1, 2023. If they are valid according to the CPI and the conditions, they will apply.”
