Those who had the opportunity to take a 9-day vacation with the school mid-term break set their sights on Bodrum, one of the world’s top tourist destinations. The occupancy rate in the district’s hotels has reached 50 percent.

“PRICES RISE FROM 2 THOUSAND 2500 LIRA TO 20 THOUSAND LIRA”

Bodrum Hoteliers Association President Ömer Faruk Dengiz said that the hotels are ready for the holidays, saying, “The 9-day holiday opportunity is an advantage for all of us, with the combination of rest and vacation. The weather also looks good at that time. Reservations are available for the holidays. Our guests who want to come to Bodrum can make reservations at the relevant travel agencies.

Hotels are ready, availability is available in open hotels. The occupancy rate in currently open hotels is around 50 percent. Prices per person per night range from 2,500 liras to 20,000 liras.”

Noting that foreign market activity continues in the district, Dengiz said: “In the first few weeks of the season, the occupancy rate was around 80 percent on planes arriving in the city. This positive development is organized 4 times from abroad every day. In the first weeks of May, flights from Russia will begin. We are still negotiating on the fullness of the aircraft. At the beginning of the season, we had targeted 1.5 million tourists by sea and air. I hope we get it,” he said.

“DEMAND IS NOT EXCESSIVE IN THE DOMESTIC MARKET NOW”

Expressing that there are holiday opportunities suitable for all budgets in the district, Bodrum Hoteliers Association Vice President Alişir Şahin said, “The season starts in Bodrum, but it takes the end of April to fully kick off. Many of the hotels will open on April 23. They will all be unlocked by the end of the month. I hope that if the infrastructure and superstructure problems are overcome, we can welcome all our guests well.”

Stating that the demand in the domestic market is not excessive, Şahin said, “The foreign market always starts first in Bodrum. In April, there is more complacency in the foreign market. In the national market, there is usually a term of 3 months. The demand is not excessive in the domestic market at the moment. Our clients in the national market always wait for the last moment and we are prepared for it. In the past, as the holidays approached summer, prices would trend even higher,” he said. (DHA)
