Consumers Confederation Chairman Aydın Ağaoğlu warned against scammers, saying, “Holidays are coming, demand has increased, everyone wants to rent a car. While dozens of people became executives because of the vehicles they rented 5 years ago, Consumer Confederation President Aydın Ağaoğlu warned consumers against the same fraud method before the party.

“With the first method, the consumer is defrauded, the vehicle to be rented is shown attractive with photographs and a deposit is taken. After the citizen sends the deposit, the other party also blocks the door wall phone, it is not possible to communicate with him.

The second method is for them to obtain credit card information or sign a promissory note, as all rental companies do. When you ask why, they say: ‘There may be traffic tickets, tolls on highway bridges or you may have an accident with your vehicle, we have to make sure.’

At this point, Ağaoğlu, who said that the consumer should be very careful, made two suggestions for consumers to get rid of fraudulent methods.

Ağaoğlu’s recommendations to consumers are as follows:

To avoid this danger, they should first do their research on the company they will be renting a car with. We are in the internet age, you can easily find it.

In the second step, let him take the photo from all 4 sides while you are renting the vehicle. If there is any prejudice in the contract, let it be noted. For example, notes like scratches on the left rear bumper or scratches on the fender. Drop him so he doesn’t become a victim.

When delivering the vehicle, the photo must be taken again. You can protect yourself from risks if you also download the note ‘The vehicle was delivered without damage as delivered’.”

Yılmaz said that at the end of his investigation, he realized that there was a promissory note under the contract and that it had been signed that year, and continued as follows:
