In his written statement, the President of the Turkish Trades and Crafts Confederation (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, stated that travel will be limited due to the short holidays this year and that citizens will shop mainly for their own household needs. .

Palandöken said: “Our merchants and artisans in all sectors, from the grocery store to the city, from the pastry chef to the dessert, from the shoemaker to the pastry chef, from the hairdresser to the hairdresser, from the taxi driver to the dolmuş, they accelerated their preparations for Eid al-Fitr. This year, the prices are a bit high, the purchasing power of the citizens is lower, but the economy will gain momentum as everyone will buy more or less for Eid,” he said.

Palandöken stated that under-the-counter production increased in this area with rising food prices and warned citizens to be careful when shopping for the holiday.

Emphasizing that products under the stairs, which are not known under what conditions they are produced and do not comply with hygiene conditions, endanger human health, Palandöken used the following statements:

“When you know the price of sugar, oil, peanuts, nuts, and flour, no one can sell baklava below cost. Baklava and pastries should be avoided, which are sold at prices below their cost. In particular, attention should be paid to products that can be eaten without washing, such as sweets, sweets and chocolate, which are sold behind roadside vehicles. Fashionable clothing and imitation cosmetics should not be trusted.
