1.1 million TL fine from notice board to butchers
The Advertising Board of the Ministry of Commerce decided to stop the promotions and applied an administrative fine of 1 million 110 thousand 432 liras to butcher businesses that operate with names and promotional images that imitate the title and logo of the Meat Institution and Milk (ESK).
According to the Ministry’s statement, 206 files that were on the agenda of the last meeting of the Publicity Board held on April 11 were resolved.
As a result of the opinions and evaluations carried out by the Board, it was decided that 190 files were against the legislation.
THEY MADE THE LOGOTYPE OF THE MEAT AND FISH CORPORATION
One of the main items on the agenda of this month’s meeting of the Board is “Meat Fish Butcher Shop”, “K. Fish Meat”, “Name of the City-District Fish Meat” of some companies of butcher shop operating in the country, which has drawn attention both in the news that has been reflected in the media and in the applications that have reached the ministry, there were business promotions operating with names and promotional images imitating the title and logo of the Meat and Milk Corporation, formerly known by the corporation as the Meat and Fish Authority, with names like “Meat and Fish Regulations”.
As a result of the preliminary examinations and evaluations carried out by the Ministry on the matter, it was observed that there were companies that operated with similar names and logos in various provinces of the country, and examinations and inspections were carried out on the aforementioned situation by the provincial directorates. of commerce in 81 provinces.
The detection record of the companies that carry out sales and promotion activities related to the matter was drawn up, and their information, documents and defenses were received, and the Board resolved to establish administrative sanctions for the files whose proceedings were complied with.
CONSUMER TRUST HAS BEEN ABUSED
In this context, as a result of the examinations carried out by the Board, said issue was discussed on the Board’s agenda, arguing that the reputation of the Meat and Milk Institution (ESK) was abused by unfairly exploiting the reputation of the Meat and Milk Institution (ESK). Dairy Authority (ESK), due to which the lack of experience and knowledge of consumers was abused, it was decided to apply an administrative fee of 1 million 110 thousand 432 liras to the shops and stop the aforementioned promotions.
The Board also decided on files other than the IHC.
The Chamber decided to impose an administrative fine of 7 million 140 thousand 604 lira in total for illegal files, including those imitating the IHC.
According to the statement, promotions that mislead and mislead consumers are closely watched by the ministry. Complaints and audit reports from the provinces, as well as similar activities reflected in the press and social media channels, are carefully monitored.
At the May meeting of the Publicity Board, examinations and evaluations will be carried out on the files that have reached the ministry. (AA)
