Retail sales fell 6.5 percent in February
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the February 2023 Retail Sales Indices.
Consequently, the volume of retail sales at constant prices increased 21.5 percent in February 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the same month, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco rose 24.3 percent, sales of non-food items (excluding auto fuel) 24.5 percent, and sales of auto fuel 7. 8 percent.
Retail sales volume at constant prices decreased 6.5 percent in February 2023 compared to the previous month.
LARGEST MONTHLY DECLINE IN FUEL SALES
In the same month, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco decreased by 0.3 percent, sales of non-food products (excluding auto fuel) by 8.7 percent, and sales of auto fuel by 8. 8 percent.
Retail billing at current prices increased by 93.4 percent in February 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month, sales of food, beverages and tobacco rose 113.1 percent, sales of non-food products (excluding auto fuel) 99.1 percent, and sales of auto fuel 47. 6 percent.
