Industrial production fell 8.2 percent on-year in February

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the industrial production data for February 2023.

Consequently, industrial production in Turkey decreased by 8.2 percent annually in February.

When the industry subsectors are analyzed, as of February 2023, the mining and extractive sector index is 18.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, the manufacturing industry index is 8.2 percent and that of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning the index of the production and distribution sector is 4 percent.5 it decreased.

When the industry subsectors are analyzed, in February 2023, the extractive sector index decreased 11.2 percent and the manufacturing industry sector index decreased 6.6 percent with respect to the previous month, while that of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector index decreased by 1.4 percent.

CHANGE IN ACCOUNTS DUE TO THE EARTHQUAKE

TURKSTAT announced that 67 percent of the surveys compiled in the regions where the earthquake disaster occurred on February 6, which affected 10 provinces, could be answered.

For missing observations, estimates were made using alternative data sources, such as electronic invoice, electronic file invoice data, and statistical methods. The proportion of the size estimated by these methods in the total was 1.94 percent.
