Thus begins the Turkish century

The AKP enters the elections to be held on May 14 with the slogan “It will be Turkey’s century” to cover up the collapsing economy and cost of living. However, in the century of Turkey, long lines for the part of citizens, unpaid debts, the cost of living decreases. Citizens looking for cheap fruits and vegetables in the night markets try to boil their pots by buying grains in the markets. President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan announced Turkey’s Century projects to the public on October 28 last year. In his speech, Erdogan said: “We will elevate the Turkish century by making our country one of the 10 largest states in the world in all fields, political, economic, technological, military and diplomatic.”

THE CRISIS DEEPENS

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), inflation exceeded 12 percent in the first three months of the year. Annual inflation was 50.51 percent according to TUIK and 112.51 percent according to the Inflation Research Group (ENAG). Inflation figures are deeply felt in the bazaar and the market. The price of the kilogram of meat exceeded 300 TL and the cheese exceeded 200 TL. The price of onions reached 30 lire. In addition to the expensiveness of food, the prices of all expenses such as clothing, health and education are out of control. The housing crisis has deepened due to increases in rents and house prices.

Debt hits throat, foreclosures rain down on homes and workplaces

The number of files in the control offices reached 33 million 275 thousand. The neighborhood mukhtars are full of execution notices. Houses are collapsing due to debt, bankruptcies are on the rise.

The farmer told Nabati, “We’re done, we’re done” and asked for a bill.

Finance Minister Nabati, who was visiting a farmer and trader in Konya, complained about high prices for fertilizer and fuel. “Prices are falling,” he replied to Nabati, who said: “They are not.”

They shouted “Give me the difference in salary” in front of the Ministry

Labor Minister Vedat Bilgin said: “The lowest salary of civil servants exceeded 20 thousand lira.” Educators with a salary of less than 20 thousand protested in front of the ministry in Ankara. He asked for the difference in salary.

Thanks to the AKP government, this also happened: the queue for cheap eggs

Cheap egg tails were added to cheap meat tails, cheap bread, cheap vegetables and cheap oil. Ankara citizens formed a long queue to buy eggs, each of which cost 2 lira.

You can only buy half a kilo of lamb or 25 onions for 200 lire.

The purchasing power of our largest banknote, 200 lira, is constantly declining due to inflation. For example, take 25 onions for 30 lire per kilo and half a kilo of meat for 400 lire.

They said: “There is no money in the wallet, you have no vote”, and they threw the wallet away.

Public workers, unable to make ends meet on their salary, took to the streets of EskiÅŸehir. They threw their empty wallets on the ground in response to the government. “If the wallet is empty, there is no vote for power,” the workers shouted.
