In addition, the article stipulating the looting of agricultural land and grazing areas by granting quick expropriation authority to OIZs was removed from the text of the proposal.

IMM PRESENTED A CASE

AKP took steps to seize Galata Tower from İBB and put it under the control of the General Directorate of Foundations, that is, İBB filed a lawsuit against this operation. The AKP administration tried the path of legal regulation this time. With the bill submitted to Turkey’s Grand National Assembly, it was planned to take Istanbul’s historic buildings such as Galata Tower, Gezi Park, Basilica Cistern entrance structure and Talat Pasha Mansion from IMM and transfer them to Foundations. However, article 19 on foundations was removed from the proposal due to the reactions.

CHP deputies also stated that cultural real estate under the responsibility of AKP municipalities could be transferred to foundations such as TÜRGEV, TÜGVA or ENSAR in a privileged manner through foundations.

ORGANIZED LOAD STOPPED FOR NOW

The proposal put forward by the AKP deputies also included the expansion of OIZs, the abolition of the condition of choosing a location during the establishment of a new OIZ, and the deactivation of ministries, especially the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, as well as IDS and others. Institutions There was also the possibility of urgent expropriation for the OIZ. Also removed from the bill was the article that would pave the way for confiscating citizens’ fields and pastures. This article was meant to be introduced to prevent the villagers from stopping the OIZ through lawsuits.
