TCIP statement from Minister Nabati

Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati came to Konya for a series of visits.

Minister Nebati, who paid a visit to the merchants, participated in the ‘Here is Konya’ program held at the Konya Chamber of Industry.

Speaking here, Minister Nebati stated that they continue to break growth records with the ‘Turkish Economy Model’ and said:

* ‘All countries are trying to deal with many problems that started with trade wars in recent years and are increasing day by day with the addition of new ones.

“CONTINUOUS CONTINUOUS”

*In a process in which epidemics, wars, climate, food and energy crises continue, and in which geopolitical tensions continue to fuel the risks of global recession, we have activated our Turkish Economic Model without delay.

*Thanks to the model, we are able to eliminate many risks in this challenging period and we continue to break historical records in growth, employment, exports and tourism. With a growth of 5.6 percent in 2022, we became one of the fastest growing countries among the G-20 countries, and thus we began to reap the benefits of our model.

*Our productive sectors, such as industry and tourism, which generate foreign currency, have been strengthened like never before in the history of our Republic. Investment growth in machinery and equipment has continued uninterrupted for 13 quarters.

* The growth momentum of the economy is reflected in our employment in a very positive way. In January of this year, we reached a historically high level of employment with 31.8 million people. With the correct policies that we implemented within the scope of the Turkish economic model and the efforts of our exporters, we have reached record levels of export in the history of our Republic.

*Our country is a country that exports to 228 countries and regions, and exports $255.7 billion annually as of March 2023.

“11.5 BILLION LIRA PAYMENT FOR DAMAGE TO THE EARTHQUAKE REGION”

Explaining the TCIP payments made to the earthquake victims, Minister Nebati continued his words as follows;

* Immediately after the earthquake, we allocated 100 billion lira to AFAD and so far we have transferred approximately 40 billion lira in cash. We provide cash assistance to our citizens affected by the earthquake and to the families of our brothers and sisters who lost their lives. We provide transportation and rental assistance to our citizens who will be living outside of the container cities.

*Within the scope of TCIP, we have made a total damage payment of 11.5 billion lira so far. We review all damage files submitted to DASK in our Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman provinces and in all our Elbistan, İslahiye, Nurdağı and Antakya districts and make all payments.

* We will complete the examination of all damage files in Malatya and Şanlıurfa provinces within two days, and we will also have made all TCIP payments in these provinces. Our goal is to complete all inspections in our other provinces no later than the end of this month and pay compensation costs in full.

*We continue to work with the Ministry of the Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change to ensure the reconstruction and restoration of the disaster area, and we provide all kinds of financing as treasury. (DHA)
